The third common problem in engineering design is that the type of cable tray does not indicate the type of anti-corrosion coating, and there is no unified written description. This problem has a lesson in reality. For example, when China contracted a general contract project in Indonesia, there was no salt spray test for the corrosion treatment of the steel cable bridge surface. Soon after the completion, the bridge was severely corroded and had to be replaced. The anticorrosive coating on the surface of cable tray mainly includes hot-dip galvanizing, galvanized nickel, cold-dip galvanizing, powder electrostatic spraying, etc. According to the manufacturer's data, the service life of hot-dip galvanizing process is not less than 40 years, which is suitable for outdoor heavy corrosion environment with high cost.

The service life of galvanizing nickel process is not less than 30 years, and it is also suitable for outdoor environment with high cost and serious corrosion. The service life of cold galvanizing process shall not be less than 12 years, which is suitable for outdoor light corrosion environment with general cost; the service life of powder electrostatic spraying process shall not be less than 12 years, which is suitable for indoor normal temperature and dry environment with general price. The designer shall reasonably select the type of anti-corrosion coating on the surface of cable tray according to the engineering environmental conditions and express it clearly in the design documents.
