We know that the basic raw material for producing fiberglass cable trays is resin. Resin is like cement in reinforced concrete, or muscles in the human body, fibers are like steel bars in reinforced concrete, or bones in the human body. Resin is the substrate, and fibers are the bone material. They each play independent roles in fiberglass cable trays, but they are not isolated, but interdependent.

1. Good corrosion resistance

Unsaturated polyester resin is a good corrosion-resistant material that can withstand general concentrations of acids, alkalis, and salts, as well as most organic solvents, seawater, atmosphere, and oil. It also has strong resistance to microorganisms.

2. Light weight and high strength

The density of unsaturated polyester resin is 1.4-2.2g/cm3, which is 4-5 times lighter than steel, but its strength is not small, surpassing that of steel, hard aluminum, and cedar.

3. Good heat dissipation performance

The thermal conductivity of unsaturated polyester resin is 0.3-0.4 Kcal/mh ℃, which is only 1/100-1/1000 of that of metals. It is an excellent insulation material, and the doors and windows made from it are the fifth generation of new energy-saving building materials. In addition, the linear expansion coefficient of fiberglass is also very small, close to that of ordinary metal materials, so the connection between fiberglass bridge and metal will not generate thermal expansion and stress, which is conducive to its adhesion with metal substrates or concrete structures.

4. Excellent processing performance

Unsaturated polyester resin has excellent processing performance, simple process, and can be formed in one go. It can be formed at room temperature and pressure, and cured under heating and pressure. And during the curing process, there will be no low molecular by-products produced, which can produce relatively uniform products.

5. Excellent electrical performance

Unsaturated polyester resin has excellent insulation performance and can still maintain good dielectric properties under high frequency conditions. It does not reflect radio waves, is not affected by electromagnetic waves, and has good microwave transmittance, making it an ideal material for manufacturing radar antenna covers.

6. Good designability of materials

Unsaturated polyester resin is a composite material with UPR as the matrix and glass fiber as the bone reinforcement material. Both are processed once to form a final shape, and various product structures can be flexibly designed according to needs.
