The fire resistance level of cable tray is selected. The parts with fire resistance requirements can be added to the cable ladder. The tray should have flame retardant properties using fire or board materials such as a network to form a closed or semi closed structure, and fire-resistant coatings should be applied to the surface of the steam water bridge. The overall performance of the fire-resistant materials should meet the requirements of relevant national regulations or standards. Aluminum alloy cable bridges are not suitable for high fire resistance. Under the same specifications, the cost of flame-retardant cable bridges is 2.2 times higher than that of steel cable bridges, with a service life more than 5 times that of steel cable bridges, and a weight 30% heavier than steel cable bridges. Fireproof cable bridges are slightly more expensive than steel cable bridges, and their service life is more than three times that of steel cable bridges. The weight is basically the same as that of a steel cable bridge.

The selection of filling rate for cable trays should meet the requirements of filling rate. The filling rate for cable ladders and trays should generally be 40% to 50% of power cables and 50% to 70% of control cables, with a reserve of 10% to 25% for project development margin

The selection of cable tray load level should be based on the selection of cable tray load level. The working load of the cable tray should not exceed the level of uniform distribution of the rated load of the selected cable tray. If the actual span of the cable tray support and hanger is not equal to 2 meters, the work of uniformly distributed load should meet the requirements. The specifications and dimensions of each component and support frame should match the straight and curved parts of the pallet and ladder.

In practical engineering, the selection of specifications and dimensions for cable trays is either too large or too tight. According to Article 8, 10, and 7 of the Code for Electrical Design of Civil Buildings, the ratio of the total cross-sectional area of cables to the cross-sectional area inside the tray should not exceed 40% for power cables and 50% for control cables.
