Requirements for setting fire barriers in cable trenches

The requirements for setting up fire barriers in cable trenches mainly include the following points:

Applicable places for fire barriers: Fire barriers are mainly used for fire protection and fire-resistant separation of cables of various voltage levels when laid on brackets or bridges. They are widely used in cable engineering in cable intensive places such as power plants, chemical enterprises, steel smelting enterprises, and mines.

Partition spacing: For flame-retardant cables, a partition should be set every 80-100m in the cable trench; For non flame retardant cables, it is advisable to set up partitions every 60m. It is generally set near the intersection of cable trenches.

Installation method: The installation method of the firewall is to use standard thickness fireproof partitions on both sides, inorganic blocking materials, fireproof bags or refractory bricks in the middle, and the thickness depends on the performance of the product, generally not less than 250mm.

Cable wrapping requirements: The cables inside the firewall must be wrapped with organic blocking material not less than 20mm around them.

Drainage holes: Fill the top of the firewall with inorganic fireproof blocking material and cover it with fireproof partitions. Two drainage holes must be left at the bottom, and bricks can be used to build the drainage holes.

Other requirements: Fire barriers should be stored in a ventilated and dry place to avoid rain, and should be protected from rain during transportation. Damage should be avoided during handling.

The above are the requirements for setting fire barriers in cable trenches, and the specific setting needs to be adjusted according to the actual situation and relevant specifications.
