Causes of cable bridge cable aging

With the widespread application of cable bridge, there are many defects in operation, such as cable aging phenomenon, cable mainly rely on an outer layer of insulation, if the protection is not good, its insulation function will gradually decline, gradually aging, hardening, brittle or falling, and then no insulation effect. So what causes cable bridge cable aging? Next, let us know about it.

1. corrosion of chemical raw materials.

Cables buried directly in the acid-base effect of the area, often constitute the cable armoured lead skin or outer protective layer is corroded, protective layer due to long-term chemical corrosion or electrolytic corrosion, resulting in the failure of protective layer, insulation decline, and then lead to cable aging.

2. long time overload operation.

Because of the thermal effect of current, the load current must cause the conductor to heat when it passes through the cable. The skin effect of electric charge and the eddy current loss of steel armor will produce additional heat at first, then the cable temperature of the cable bridge will rise. Over a long period of operation, excessive temperature will accelerate the aging of insulation, resulting in insulation breakdown. Especially in the hot summer, the temperature rise of the cable often causes the thin insulation of the cable to be first broken down, so in the summer, cable problems are particularly numerous.

3. cable connection fault.

Cable joint is a thin link in the cable line. Cable joint faults caused by direct faults often occur. Therefore, in the process of making cable joints, if the joints are not pressed tightly and heated insufficiently, the original network will lead to cable head insulation decline, showing cable aging phenomenon.

4. insulation damp condition.

Generally, this situation is relatively common, and usually occurs in the cable joints where burying or draining pipes are located. For example, if the joints of cable bridges are fabricated unqualified and made in damp climates, the joints will enter water or mix with water vapor, forming water branches under the effect of electric field, gradually damaging the insulation strength of the cable and causing problems.

External environment and heat source around cable bridge and cable will also cause insulation breakdown of cable temperature too high, showing cable aging phenomenon, if severe, it will also constitute a blasting fire.
